DSC joins the Club Champion League (CCL) Regional League West

Danville Soccer Club is pleased to announce that the fall of 21 will see the club’s travel program join the Club Champions League (CCL) Regional League West. This move will allow for a united, blocked schedule, where all club travel teams will play in the same place on the same day, as well as an increased level of competition. The CCL’S mission is to provide a platform connecting like-minded clubs, leaders, and communities focused on holistic player development. With increased opportunities for identification Danville Soccer club players will be able to join the over 1,000 players from the CCL that currently play in college and 300+ CCL players that move on to NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA each year. "The history of the CCL is helping clubs develop from within, regardless of size. We are excited to have Danville Soccer Club join the CCL Regional League in its pursuit of helping its players, coaches, teams, and club, develop in the best soccer environments in the state and region. Danville joins a growing number of clubs that want to play in a league that is full of distinguished, reputable clubs and run by a dedicated, experienced professional full-time staff and board of directors," said Brian Kuk, CCL CEO.
In addition, Danville Soccer Club is set to begin an affiliation program with VBR Star Soccer Club. As the two clubs begin working together for the 2021/2022 seasonal year, both clubs will utilize administrative and developmental strategies to grow and strengthen soccer in this region of the state. Through this affiliation, Danville players will have the opportunity to play with VBR Star National League teams, USL Academy, and CCL Pro23 teams.
"We (VBR Star) are very excited to work with Danville Soccer Club to strengthen the soccer community in the Danville Area, " said VBR Star Executive Director, Danny Beamer
VBR Star Director of Coaching & Player Development, Chris McClellan added, "It has been fun to see our two clubs working together over the past few months. Danville players and teams will get many opportunities to showcase their talents at the next level. We look forward to what the future may bring with our clubs coming together for the players."
The combination of joining the CCL Regional League and the affiliation program with VBR Star will give Danville Soccer Club players opportunities unlike those previously available. Eric Hash, Danville Soccer Club Director of Coaching commented, “Danville Soccer Club is excited about these unique opportunities for our club and players to more fully reach our potential by working along side, rather than against, another local club and joining a high-quality league. We are excited about the player development opportunities that will come with facing higher level competition and the growth we will see by joining with like-minded clubs.”
